Nous prenons conscience de la réalité lorsque nous sommes face à une difficulté, une surprise, un impromptu qui rompt le cours de nos activités, de nos pensées, de notre trajet. Ce « qu’est ce qui se passe ? », ce « qu’est- ce que c’est ? » nous place au présent, dans un instant qui peut plus ou moins se prolonger. Nous pensons que l’œuvre est capable de suspendre le cours habituel des choses et nous voulons mettre cette capacité à l’épreuve. Comment poser la réalité d'une oeuvre dans un espace où l'art n'est pas attendu? espaces naturels (Land-art), espaces industriels, urbains et péri-urbains (Biennale de l'estuaire...), espaces spécifiques (Marfa, Texas...)

Comment l'artiste passe-t-il de la définition de ses propres impératifs « privés» en terme de mise en espace, condition de visibilité, etc. à la commande publique et ses impératifs spécifiques et contradictoires?

Le projet de recherche : la première phase de ce projet de Recherche s'est réalisée dans l’expérience de l’exposition de « + de réalité » et du témoignage qu’en donne l’édition du même nom, dont l’objectif premier était de mettre le public, et en particulier les étudiants de l’école, face aux œuvres le plus simplement possible, dans un lieu destiné aux expositions. Un horizon de ce nouveau projet serait celui d'une exposition faisant suite à « +de réalité » autour des mêmes questions, en annexant les approches et les pratiques démultipliées de jeunes artistes. La deuxième phase de ce projet vise à élargir le champ de ces questions et s'appuie sur plusieurs axes et partenariats qui feront l'objet d'un travail de mise au point et de définition pendant le premier semestre 2010. Dans le cadre de cette préparation, un atelier expérimental sur le territoire même de l’estuaire peut se mettre en place dès le premier semestre avec Eden Morfaux qui donnera son orientation particulière en apportant son expérience aux étudiants.

We are conscious of reality when we are faced with a difficulty, a surprise, or something impromptu that interrupts what we are doing, our thoughts or our journey. This "what's going on? ", this "what is it? " places us in the present, in a moment that can continue for any length of time. We think that a work is capable of suspending the usual way things go and we want to put this capacity to the test. How do you put a real work in an area where art is not expected?: natural areas (Land-art), industrial areas, urban and peri-urban (the estuary Biennial, etc.), specific areas (Marfa, Texas, etc.)

How does the artist go from defining their own "private" requirements in terms of putting on display, conditions of visibility, etc., to public commissions and their specific and contradictory requirements?

Research project: The first phase of this research project is achieved by experiencing the "+reality" exhibition and the testimony given by the publication of the same name, the initial aim of which was to put the public, and particularly students from the college, face to face with the simplest works possible, in a location designed for exhibitions. One of this new project's horizons will be that of an exhibition following on from "+reality" around the same issues, appending the simplified approaches and practices of young artists.

The aim of the second phase of this project is to widen the field of these issues, and relies on several associations and partnerships that will be the subject of focused and defined work during the first term 2010. Within the context of this preparation, an experimental workshop in the same area as the estuary can be put in place from the first term with Eden Morfaux, who will give individual guidance and bring his experience to students.
